Healthy Lifestyle
For both young and old, many problems in life can be avoided by teaching and correcting bad habits. Set yourself up for healthy lifetime habits.
This is especially valuable if you are young.
According to medical & health-oriented literature, increasing numbers of teenagers and young adults are overweight and not leading optimal lifestyles. More and more remain obese during their lifetime. A large percentage develop health problems, like insulin-resistant diabetes, which can be prevented with proper health management and education. There are additional secondary health problems that can lead to depression, stress, poor coping mechanisms, and low self-esteem, which can also last into adult life or indefinitely. Most of the time, the problems that are seen in the teenage years and young adulthood are symptoms of a much deeper underlying problem that needs to be uncovered and addressed. Many of these problems in later life can be prevented by learning healthy lifestyle habits in the teenage and early adult years.
Dr. Horvath provides a program of healthy lifestyle consultations and physical evaluations for teenagers and young adults (age 13-21) intended to uncover and address the root causes of many of these problems and aimed to teach and create the habits needed for a healthy lifestyle. This program is tailored to the individual patient’s needs. Instead of brief office visits dealing with symptoms, this program involves much more in-depth inquiry and analysis and seeks solutions that may only be arrived at by individualized investigation, supervision, and planning.
The same services are available for older patients upon request.
